HISTORY CHANNEL SHOW TO FEATURE MSU FACULTY MEMBER
BECKLEY- MonsterQuest, a documentary television show on The History Channel, has bega filming for an episode that features David Weaver, a faculty member with Mountain State University.
The show is taking Weaver to Point Pleasant, W.Va., Sacramento, Calif., as well as La Crosse, Wis. Weaver will provide composite drawings of strange sightings at each location that have been seen by multiple people. The show is an American documentary series that focuses on investigation of paranormal and cryptids sightings around the world. Weaver was chosen as a distinguished forensic investigation practitioner and one of only seven-hundred registered latent fingerprint examiners worldwide. He is not sure what he will be drawing yet for MonsterQuest but is excited to represent Mountain State University in front of a national audience. Weaver has served as a full-time faculty member in the Forensic Investigation program on the Beckley Campus of MSU for three and a half years. His professional portfolio includes: consultant services, forensic art and facial reconstruction, the new patent fingerprint development systems, research, law enforcement training, and AFIS technology. Within his short three years at MSU, he has worked with a group of dedicated students to revolutionize the way fingerprints are being tracked. This past spring, C.S.I., a CBS television show, featured the group’s invention, “Fuma-Dome”. The first day of filming took place on August 30, 2009 in Point Pleasant.
